Daniels collaborated with fiddler Imprint O'Connor to record a continuation of Daniels' 1979 single "The Fallen angel Went Down To Georgia" entitled "The Fiend Returned To Georgia". Daniels played the fiddle close by O'Connor, while Johnny Money, Marty Stuart and Travis Tritt sung the verses. The tune was on O'Connor's collection, Heroes.
Resulting Daniels pop hits included "In America" (number 11 of every 1980), "The Legend of Wooley Bog" (number 31 of every 1980), and "Still in Saigon" (number 22 of every 1982). In 1980, Daniels took an interest in the down home music idea collection, The Legend of Jesse James. In the late 1980s and 1990s, a few of Daniels' collections and singles were hits on the Nation graphs and the music keeps on accepting airplay on nation stations today. Daniels wedded Hazel Juanita Alexander on September 20, 1964. They had one youngster, a child, Charles Edward Daniels Jr.[41] An energetic College of Tennessee games fan,[42] he delighted in chasing, fishing, snowmobiling, and other outside exercises. He was an individual from the National Rifle Affiliation (NRA) and performed on their recordings.
Daniels endured a significant arm injury on January 30, 1980, while burrowing wall post gaps on his homestead close to Mount Juliet, where he lived. He endured three complete breaks in his correct arm, and two broken fingers when his shirtsleeve got on a turning wood screw. The injury required medical procedure, and sidelined him for four months.[43][44]
